I recently started working as a software developer at care.com. It is a website focused on finding babysitters, nannies, dog sitters, elderly care and personal assistants. I am responsible for building features for the site.

Care.com offers background and reference checks, so that you can be sure that you are hiring a trustworthy individual. When you want to contact somebody, you need to sign up for a paid monthly membership. Once you are a member you can also post a job. Job postings usually get multiple responses from qualified applicants.
I used the site to find a babysitter to come regularly on Tuesdays for a few hours to watch my two girls. Even in my little town of Stow, MA, there is a long list of babysitters to choose from. I had no problem finding a wonderful babysitter who gets along well with the girls, and is very reliable and trustworthy.
