Care.com Review

I recently started working as a software developer at care.com. It is a website focused on finding babysitters, nannies, dog sitters, elderly care and personal assistants. I am responsible for building features for the site.

The site is free for those who want a job as a caregiver. For example, those looking for babysitting jobs can sign up for free by clicking here: http://www.care.com/care-provider-p1068.html. There are thousands of open positions posted by members throughout the country. All of those can be searched and applied for for free.

If you are searching for a sitter (or other care provider), you can veiw the list of for your town and filter them based on qualifications, how much they want to be paid, and distance. Care.com offers background and reference checks, so that you can be sure that you are hiring a trustworthy individual. When you want to contact somebody, you need to sign up for a paid monthly membership. Once you are a member you can also post a job. Job postings usually get multiple responses from qualified applicants.

I used the site to find a babysitter to come regularly on Tuesdays for a few hours to watch my two girls. Even in my little town of Stow, MA, there is a long list of babysitters to choose from. I had no problem finding a wonderful babysitter who gets along well with the girls, and is very reliable and trustworthy.

If you want a deal when signing up you might want to start with the care.com facebook page. There you can often find a coupon code. Otherwise, see what I've been working on recently by exploring from the care.com home page.
